Couples ‘Need To Plan For Big Day’
By admin • Mar 17th, 2010There may be some lucky women in the UK who were surprised by their other halves this Valentine’s Day with a proposal and a sizable rock.
However, now that they have time to celebrate, the stress of planning the wedding may be pulling ladies back down from cloud nine.
Luckily, help is at hand from one weddings expert, who urges would-be brides and grooms to ensure they leave plenty of time to save up if they wish to have the celebrations they always dreamt of.
Francesca Moore, PR and marketing officer at Hitched.co.uk, said once the couple have chosen their budget, it becomes easier to tailor their wedding around this, by choosing the venue based on their available money, rather than what it offers.
With this in mind, sorting out the finances may be the step partners need to take first, even if choosing a colour scheme for the reception and picking a dress seems more exciting.
"What we have noticed is that couples are planning between 12 and 18 months in advance for their wedding. That gives them a long time to plan, a long time to save up and a long time to look at the different options that are available," Ms Moore claims.
She adds that many other aspects of a wedding also need to be sorted well in advance, including buying dresses for the bridal party and choosing a photographer.
Her comments come after sunshine.co.uk revealed the Eiffel Tower and the Greek island of Skopelos, where Mamma Mia! was filmed, are proving popular places to pop the question.
