Get A Beach-Ready Body
By admin • May 12th, 2010As the summer weather starts to set in, many women may be eagerly anticipating a long-awaited holiday but, while the chance to relax may be welcomed, ladies could be feeling nervous about hitting the beach.
Indeed, daring to bear on the sand by stepping out in a bikini is a daunting prospect that could fill women with dread.
However, there is still time for them to get to work on achieving their dream figure, as one fitness expert has claimed it is "never too late" to get in shape.
Joanna Knight, editor at Women’s Fitness, urged ladies to start on their new health and fitness regime as soon as possible, explaining that even a period of four weeks or less is plenty of time.
She advised women to do three or four cardio sessions a week and incorporate interval training, where you switch your activity between high and moderate intensities.
Females should also hit the weights, she said, adding: "For ultimate results, do weight training prior to cardio, as then your body burns more fat when you do cardio activity."
However, for those who simply do not have time to train, Ms Knight urged them to work on their posture, as standing up straight can help people to slim down "in seconds".
Women who achieve their dream figure and are keen to show off their newly-toned pins may be pleased to hear that shorts are on-trend for the summer, with Vogue claiming safari and denim styles will be particularly popular.
