How To Blast The Muffin Top
By admin • Apr 23rd, 2010Summer is on the way and while women may be enjoying the warmer weather, at the back of their minds they may already be dreading the day they have to strip off to a bikini and hit the beach on their holidays.
However, there could still be time for ladies to banish that unwanted muffin top for good, although they may need to do more than a couple of sit ups.
Indeed, Joanna Hall, diet and movement specialist, said simply doing loads of sit ups will not help ladies to blast their spare tyre.
Instead, she advised combining cardiovascular workouts with exercises that put the adnominal muscle through its paces.
Such exercises should be carried out daily as to get the stomach muscles toned, this level of effort needs to be put in.
Walking and Pilates are both good activities to improve posture, Ms Hall explained, noting that good posture meant the stomach muscles would be more consistently held in.
On the subject of diet, she advised: "What you will find again consistently is that a combination of no carbohydrate after five o’clock; that is no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes or cereal, over 28 days really can give people significant benefits."
Her comments come after a survey by Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation revealed that people’s muffin tops and beer bellies are putting them at risk of cancer, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Would you like a flatter stomach?
