Keeping Down The Cost Of Christmas
By admin • Dec 10th, 2009As Christmas grows ever closer, mums may already be feeling less than jolly at the thought of the festive season, as over-excited kids nag for gifts.
Indeed, as parents look to give their little ones the perfect Christmas - including keeping them entertained during their time off school - they could be concerned about the cost of the whole occasion mounting up.
However, by going "back to basics" it may be possible for the whole family to enjoy Christmas, without feeling stressed over how much it will cost.
Such is the advice of Amy Schofield, editor of education and parenting website MyChild.co.uk, who said that planning was the key to a stress-free festive period, rather than leaving everything to the last minute.
"I find that the best thing to do to avoid getting swept along on the overspending tide of Christmas commercialism is to get back to basics and remember that it isn’t all about the money - or lack of it," she added.
Such advice could prove useful after internet bank Egg revealed that the average family is set to spend almost £40 a day on entertaining their children this Christmas.
