Losing Weight ‘A Balancing Act’
By admin • Mar 26th, 2010In order to successfully lose weight and get trim in time for the summer, one sector commentator has advised women to prepare themselves for a balancing act.
Dr Laura Wyness, senior nutrition scientist at British Nutrition Foundation, said although many ladies wish to shed those unwanted pounds, several feel that their working hours do not afford them the time to get fit.
However, she added that there are ways to exercise without hitting the gym, such as taking the stairs rather than the lift or getting off the bus one stop early and walking.
Dr Wyness went on to warn that when it comes to overall health, a gym membership is much more worthwhile than taking diet pills, as exercise is crucial to a healthy lifestyle.
"People have to realise that while some diet pills may work, they are not enough to rely on solely as part of healthy and consistent way to lose weight. It is all about getting a balance," she explained.
While diet pills could help ladies realise a dramatic loss of weight in the short-term, without a healthy diet and exercise regime, people are likely to find they pile the lost pounds back on once they stop taking them, Dr Wyness warned.
Her comments come after a study by the University of Liverpool into the effectiveness of anti-obesity drugs claimed the pills fail to provide lasting success for health and wellbeing because they do not consider psychological causes of over consumption.
Would you consider taking diet pills to lose weight?
