Emma Bunton To Join Dancing On Ice
By admin • Dec 16th, 2009Emma Bunton is set to add some spice to the panel of Dancing On Ice after being confirmed as the show’s new judge.
The 33-year-old former Spice Girl will replace Ruthie Henshall on the IV1 show, despite having no formal ice-skating experience.
She will also be following in the talent show judge footsteps of her former band mate Victoria Beckham, who was invited as a temporary guest judge on this year’s American Idol.
The Daily Mail reports Emma as saying: "I’m so excited to be joining a show that I have been a huge fan of since it began and to be working with Torvill and Dean! I can’t wait to get started!"
The singer will join Robin Cousins, Jason Gardiner, Karen Barber and Nicky Slater on the judging panel.
Host Phillip Schofield tweeted about the new judge, telling followers "at last our secret is out" and that he had been "busting" to tell fans for ages.
Commenting on her lack of skating qualifications, he added that, like Jason Gardiner, Emma would be judging the dancing, while the others would mark the skating.
The series will begin in January and while the line-up has not yet been announced it is rumoured that Paul McCartney’s ex Heather Mills will be making an appearance.
