Fern Britton To Host Religious Chat Show
By admin • Nov 5th, 2009We all feared when Fern Britton left This Morning earlier this year to enjoy longer lie-ins and more time to herself that we would not see her as a TV regular again. Well, rest assured, the 52-year-old presenter is coming back and she is likely to be bigger and better than before.
The feisty blonde is set to host a new "serious" talk show over the Christmas period in which she will interview important high-profile guests - rather than the run-of-the-mill UK B-listers who Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are left with.
In Fern Britton Meets, the mum-of-four will flex her real journalistic muscles by interviewing none other than Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Tony Blair, as well as country singing legend Dolly Parton and Sheila Hancock. And the focus of the interviews will be about their faith and spirituality.
Whether Fern is an appropriate choice to host a Sunday evening chat show about religion remains to be seen, but she is optimistic about her endeavour regardless.
"All of the interviewees come from very different backgrounds, but what binds them together is that although their faith has been challenged, they have emerged with spiritual beliefs," she commented.
I think Fern is intelligent and talented enough to excel in whatever she tries her hand at, so I expect this programme to be a success.
But will you watch it?
