Help! Beatles To Become Zombies
By admin • May 11th, 2010Many music fans the world over are convinced that the songs of The Beatles will live forever and now the band themselves are to be immortalised as the undead in a new film.
According to film buff blog Deadline, bosses at movie company Double Feature - which produced Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich - have snapped up the rights to Alan Goldsher’s book Paul is Dead: The British Zombie Invasion.
The story sees a zombie John Lennon kill his bandmates Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, before the Fab Four go on a worldwide rampage.
However, in this telling, Beatlemania has far more dire consequences, as the band feeds on the brains of its fans, while trying to escape from zombie hunter Mick Jagger, lead singer of their chart rivals The Rolling Stones.
Double Feature’s Stacey Sher said: "How can you not love a book where Jesus agrees with zombie John Lennon, that The Beatles are in fact bigger than him?"
At the height of The Beatles’ fame in the 1960s, a rumour spread like wildfire among music fans that the real Paul had been killed in a car accident and was later replaced by a look-alike.
Clues pointing to the cover-up included the front cover of the Abbey Road album - which was thought to depict a funeral procession - and the belief that John sings "I buried Paul" in the single Strawberry Fields Forever, although the actual lyric is "cranberry sauce".
