Jessie ‘Getting Fit For Eastenders Return’
By admin • Feb 15th, 2010Few Eastenders fans could forget Kat Slater and Alfie Moon’s romantic departure from the square where they had enjoyed a flirty on-off relationship five years ago and now the much-loved characters are set to return.
As part of the BBC1 soap’s 25-year anniversary, the characters - who were firm favourites with viewers from the show - will be coming back to Albert Square, seeing Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace reprising the roles.
However, following their time away, fans may notice a difference in Kat, who was famed for her voluptuous curves, as Jessie has been busy working out in preparation for her anticipated comeback.
The Daily Mail reports Jessie had a look of "steely determination and perfect poise" as she left a gym in Essex at the weekend following a workout.
Fans are likely to be waiting with baited breath to see if Kat and Alfie are still as loved up as when they left.
And following Barbara Windsor’s announcement she is to leave the soap, bosses are reportedly keen to bring more strong women to Albert Square, prompting them to give Jessie a call.
"I’ve really enjoyed playing different roles over the last few years, but am excited to slip back into Kat Slater’s stilettos. I’ve missed her," the actress said.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the BBC is set to broadcast a live episode of the soap, in which the murderer of Archie Mitchell will be revealed.
