Sandra And Jeff Take Home Oscars
By admin • Mar 8th, 2010Last night (March 7th), the red carpet filled with some of the biggest names in Hollywood as the most renowned awards ceremony of the year took place.
However, it was not good news for the Brits among the nominations, with a hotly tipped Carey Mulligan losing out in the race to be crowned best actress to Sandra Bullock for her performance in The Blind Side.
Meanwhile, Colin Firth also went home empty handed despite rave reviews for his role in A Single Man, as Jeff Bridges took home the best actor award for Crazy Heart.
And in the ultimate Oscars battle for best picture, Kathryn Bigelow saw off competition from her ex-husband James Cameron by accepting the prize for her low-budget film The Hurt Locker, against Cameron’s multi-million dollar Avatar.
Kathryn also proved victorious in the best director category, while other winners on the big night included Christopher Waltz, who won best supporting actor for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious and Mo’Nique, who picked up the gong for best supporting actress in Precious.
Sandra wore a metallic and lace gown by Marchesa on the big night, while Carey opted for a quirky strapless black Prada frock which featured tiny knife, fork and scissor charms.
