Spelbound Leap To BGT Victory
By admin • Jun 7th, 2010This year, it seems the game was upped by the Britain’s Got Talent finalists, as the competitors pulled out all of the stops to get the votes.
From an impersonator working in a host of famous voices to a rendition of the Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and a dancing dog to a singing Granny and a young boy band, the talent on offer this year was nothing short of diverse.
However, when acrobatic troupe Spelbound threw one of its members over Amanda Holden’s head as she sat on the judging panel, the bar was definitely set and they were crowned the night’s eventual winners.
The 13-strong team will now perform at the Royal Variety Performance, while judge Amanda pointed out that they could also make a fantastic opening act for next year’s Olympic Games in London.
Meanwhile, there was dismay on the big night when one of the show’s favourites, 81-year-old Janey Cutler, sang No Regrets almost entirely out of synch.
And another favourite, dancing canine Chandi, was certainly not leading a dog’s life when Simon Cowell advised her owner and trainer Tina that her pet was looking tired and it may be kindest to let her retire.
Did you catch the BGT finals?
