Tru Colourz Booted Out Of The X Factor
By admin • Sep 29th, 2009There seems to have been nothing but drama since the X Factor hit our TV screens last month. From the clash with Strictly Come Dancing to the argument that too many established popstars have been let into the running, a lot has gone down since the talent show’s return.
But the most recent unfolding has come a little late in the day. After the final 24 acts were named on the show at the weekend and the wannabes were preparing to jet off to the judges houses, it emerged that one of the groups lied about their age.
It turns out that a member of girl band Tru Colourz lied about her age. She told bosses that she was 16 - the age required to compete on the show, when in actual fact, she is only 15.
As such, the band have been disqualified and replaced by Harmony Hood. A source told the Daily Star: "It was just a little white lie because she was so desperate to get on the show, but it has cost them."
Clearly Simon Cowell is being sure to avoid the same sort of problems he encountered with Britain’s Got Talent back in May with young Hollie Steele who broke down in the middle of her performance.
Let’s face it, apart from the sales they might make as a novelty act, under-16s are not likely to sell many records, so what would be the point in giving them false hope?
