Geri Joins Cheryl For X Factor Auditions
By admin • Jun 10th, 2010This year’s auditions for The X Factor may be more noteworthy for its judging panel than the singers, as arguably two of the biggest stars of girl band history go head-to-head.
With Dannii Minogue missing out on the auditions this year while she has her first baby, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has stepped in to lend a hand, joining rival star Cheryl Cole, along with Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
But while The Spice Girls and Girls Aloud could be rivals when it comes to the battle for the UK’s best loved girl band, it was in fact Geri who first gave Cheryl her break on a similar talent search.
Eight years ago, Geri was on the judging panel for Popstars: The Rivals, where Cheryl was picked to be a member of Girls Aloud.
But Geri is not the only famous star who will be helping to pick the finalists this year - with the Sun reporting that a host of celebrities will be sitting in for Dannii while she prepares for her new arrival.
Writing on her Twitter feed, the Aussie singer said: "Go Geri! Give em some ’spice’ at the X Factor auditions in Glasgow today."
However, it seems that it was Cheryl who was keen to inject some spice, seemingly taking style tips from Geri’s bandmate Mel B by turning up in a leopard-print mini dress.
