All The Single Ladies ‘Should Be Proud’
By admin • Jun 2nd, 2010While many women may be quick to throw some shapes on the dancefloor to Beyonce’s Single Ladies with their friends, when it comes to other occasions they may feel less celebratory about their relationship status.
However, being single is something to be proud about, according to the relationship expert Jenni Trent Hughes.
Indeed, she says that many more people are now opting to lead a solo lifestyle because that choice is available to them - meaning that more Britons are willing to wait for the right person for them to come along, rather than settling for second best just because society expects it.
"It was considered ok for a man to be single but definitely not for a women [...but] in the past decade or so it has now become completely fine for women to be on their own. It’s now our turn to be single and proud," Ms Trent Hughes asserts.
Speaking of the benefits of staying single, she explains that women can travel to the places they’ve always wanted to, watch what they want on the television, get up at a time that suits them and eat the food they like the most.
Research released last year by Zoosk.com revealed that ladies are more likely to celebrate their single status than guys, with nearly 70 per cent of women admitting that the freedom to do what they want and flirt with anyone is the best thing about staying solo.
