Be A Pretty Woman With Big Volume Hair
By admin • Feb 2nd, 2010The fashion pack appears to have gone mad for Dallas and Dynasty-inspired style lately, with shoulder pads and sequins becoming must-have trends.
And now it seems 1970s and 80s style is influencing pour barnets too - with big curls and loads of volume more popular than ever.
At the recent Golden Globes, the original Pretty Woman Julia Roberts stepped out with curly locks on the red carpet, as did Sandra Bullock, while Sex And The City’s Carrie Bradshaw is proof that women can look stylish even if their straighteners have burnt out.
To create the perfect look, Indira Schauwecker, TONI&GUY international artistic director, said the best method for achieving curly hair is a wet set.
This means applying a generous amount of volumising mousse while the hair is still wet and then wrapping large sections around rollers and leaving to dry.
"If you have limited time you can use a hairdryer to speed up the process, otherwise heated rollers are also good. Straighteners are not a good option as they decrease volume by pulling the hair down and are better for sleeker finishes," she added.
So if you have a big do coming up, why not put your straighteners in storage and give the rollers a try? It hasn’t done Julia, Sandra or Carrie any harm.
Will you be trying out this season’s big curl trend?
