Bo-Ho Makes A Summer Return
By admin • Apr 9th, 2010After a series of summers spent in short skirts and even shorter shorts, many women may be breathing a sign of relief upon hearing the news that long skirts are set to make a resurgence, meaning they can finally take a break from the gym.
According to a recent article in the Daily Mail by Hannah Betts, skirts that sweep the floor are making a come back, as the hippy look comes into vogue.
Could this mean we are set for an overdue Summer of Love in 2010?
But ladies who do not feel the free-spirited look will suit them do not have to worry as there is likely to be plenty to choose from when it comes to longer skirts this year.
Lizanne Harris, fashion director at Stylist, said: "This season longer length skirts come in different guises. The maxi skirt is not as full and flared as in the past. It’s slimmer in cut and not so fussy in detail - forget the ruffles and choose minimal and streamlined."
She added that below the knee skirts, such as Stella McCartney’s denim, will also help to evoke that 1970’s feel.
Ms Harris claimed that longer skirts are an accessible garment as they can help to cover up a multitude of body worries.
However, she advised shorter girls to always choose a skirt that hits the bridge of their foot as otherwise they could risk looking short.
Teaming the skirts with a simple blouse or vest top is the key to getting the look right, she concluded.
Will you be embracing the 1970’s revival?
