Chivalry And Romance Are Not Dead

By admin • Feb 9th, 2010

When you spend hours picking up dirty washing left behind by your husband, you could be forgiven for believing romance is a thing of the past and the notion of a white knight a myth.

However, according to one sector commentator, chivalry is not dead - it is simply taking a nap.

Relationship guru Jenni Trent-Hughes said now is the time to reawaken the idea of chivalry, with Valentine’s Day now just a few days away.

Speaking on behalf of Lindt, she explained: "Men are in the state of being confused because they don’t know what’s appropriate and they don’t want to cause offence. Women are in the state of feeling that nobody is romantic anymore. We both want the same thing we are just not quite in agreement as to how to get it."

Ms Trent-Hughes stated everybody likes a little romance, but showing you care does not have to mean taking out a loan to fund a grand gesture.

Instead, it is often the little things that are the most romantic, as it shows loved ones you truly care.

According to research by Lindt, 55 per cent of women on a date admit they are happy to receive a simple compliment on their appearance, while five per cent of ladies state they would not say no to a box of chocolates.

However, it becomes harder to argue chivalry is not dead when seven per cent of male respondents admit they have ruined a date before by kissing someone else.

Do you think romance is dead?
