Cosmetic Surgery Acceptable ‘Thanks To Celebs’
By admin • May 20th, 2010Cosmetic surgery used to be something that people preferred to keep quiet about, hoping that others would be fooled into thinking their youthful appearance was all down to Mother Nature.
However, as celebrities such as Amanda Holden, Dannii Minogue, Simon Cowell and Heidi Montag open up about the procedures they have undergone, the subject is becoming more acceptable, one sector commentator has claimed.
A spokeswoman from the Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group said that such stars naturally influence both men and women in their lifestyle, diet and fashion choices.
By speaking out about cosmetic treatments, these famous faces have broken the taboo associated with going under the knife or needle, she added.
"Whether it’s Simon Cowell confessing to having regular Botox or Lord Alan Sugar admitting to having his eye bags removed, men, it seems, are no longer as self-conscious or embarrassed to take the plunge into cosmetic treatments," the spokeswoman explained.
Holden and Minogue have both admitted to using Botox in the past, while The Hills’ Montag underwent a whole body and face overhaul in just one day, reportedly having ten procedures carried out despite only being 23.
According to the Good Surgeon Guide, 56 per cent of Britons would rather lose their additional weight by having weight loss surgery than eating less and exercising more.
