Entertain The Kids Without Breaking The Bank
By admin • May 25th, 2010With Britons leading increasingly busy lives, time spent together as a family may be a rare pleasure that parents wish to make extra special.
However, one parenting expert has pointed out that mums and dads and their children can enjoy their time together without having to spend a large sum of cash to make the experience memorable.
Author Polly Beard said many parents were finding they were having to tighten their belts at the moment, but that just putting aside the chores for the day and spending some time chilling at home can still be appreciated by children.
She also advised mums and dads to encourage their kids to exercise, which may mean playing a football game in the garden. Going for a bike ride or enjoying a walk together are family activities that are particularly worthwhile.
Ms Beard’s comments come ahead of National Family Week, which will take place between May 31st to June 6th and see a number of events being held around the country.
Research has revealed that while 68 per cent of parents cite financial constraints as a barrier to spending time as a family, 66 per cent of children are happy to spend time at home with their mum and dad.
Do you think you get enough family time?
