Fashion Trends For The Over-30s
By admin • Jan 18th, 2010Some of the most stylish celebrities of today are not young 20-somethings, but over-30s who know how to pick on-trend styles which suit them, such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham.
Indeed, in the style stakes, SJP - and her Sex And The City alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw - is likely to beat her younger celebrity counterparts every time and is a fashion icon for millions of women.
And this could be seen as proof that ladies over 30 know how to dress to impress.
Lizanne Harris, fashion director at Stylist, said women over 40 - like SJP - should not feel they need to shop in stores aiming at the older female.
"I’m 40 - they aren’t really dressed how we would imagine a 40-year-old to be dressing. I wear skinny jeans and baggy T-shirts and the rock chick look and I don’t particularly think I look like mutton dressed as lamb," she added.
Ms Harris advised women that spring trends they may wish to fill their wardrobes with include the new take on military, which can be great for women in their 30s and 40s as tailoring is key to the look.
