It’s Official - Men Are Liars
By admin • May 19th, 2010Women who trust the man in their life may be forced to think again following the release of new research which claims guys fib three times a day on average.
According to the OnePoll study, commissioned by the Science Museum, the typical male tells 1,092 porkies every year.
In contrast, women fib around 728 times a year, although this dishonesty still sees them telling an average of two lies every day.
However, ladies may not wish to allow the research to dent their trust in their man too much, as it appears the majority of their lies are told to cover up trivial matters, such as how much they have had to drink.
Indeed, "I didn’t have that much to drink" is the most popular fib likely to come from a man’s list.
And ladies may be all too familiar with the most common lie females tell: "Nothing’s wrong. I’m fine."
In terms of guilt, it seems men are more likely to sleep easy after telling their untruths, with 70 per cent of them feeling guilty about lying, compared to 82 per cent of women.
Commenting in the research, Sandra Parsons, in an article for the Daily Mail, says that when ladies fib it is only about the things that matter, while in her own experience "most men can lie as easily as breathing".
