Men Who Don’t Help Out ‘Are More Likely To Get Divorced’
By admin • May 21st, 2010While many women out there may not be surprised at the news, scientists have now proven that lazy men are more likely to get divorced.
Researchers from the London School of Economics and Political Science have found husbands who do not do their fair share of the housework could find themselves getting separated.
According to the experts, the study "explodes" previous assumptions that higher break-up rates over the years are due to women going out and getting jobs.
The organisation’s Dr Wendy Sigle-Rushton said people should be looking at the way men behave when their wife is a money-earner.
She remarked: "This research … suggests that fathers’ contribution to unpaid work at home stabilises marriage regardless of mothers’ employment status."
However, feminists out there may be disappointed to hear that the couples who most commonly stay together are the ones in which the female doesn’t have a job, but is helped out a lot by a doting hubby.
This isn’t the only survey released this week on the matter, as Deakin University specialists also found divorce is more prevalent in relationships where the husband is happier than the wife.
