‘Millions Of Men’ Prefer The No-Slap Look
By admin • Jan 6th, 2010When waking up with a break-out of spots, dark shadows under the eyes or puffy eyelids, I - like millions of other women - am quick to reach for my make-up bag and begin slapping it on.
However, while ladies may feel they look a million dollars when stepping out in false eyelashes, glamorous red lipstick and bright blusher, men are less likely to appreciate the look.
Such are the findings of new research from skincare experts St Ives, which carried out a poll among 2,000 adults and found men were turned off by the heavy make-up often sported by celebrities such as Amy Winehouse and Jordan.
Indeed, Amy’s trademark eyeliner flicks were found to be a particular no-no for men when looking for the ideal girl.
War paint traits which were found to put men off the most were lipstick on the teeth, too much blusher, thick foundation, panda eyes and gloopy mascara.
And 18 per cent of guys admitted they wished their partner would give their faces a rest from all that slap.
But despite this, I would bet it will be some time before anyone spots Amy or Jordan stepping out in the natural look.
Do you think you wear too much make-up?
