Mums ‘Just Want A Hug’
By admin • Mar 15th, 2010This weekend (Sunday 15th March) should have seen mums up and down the UK being truly spoilt by their kids and partners as families celebrated Mother’s Day.
However, most mums do not expect their children to splash out on luxury gifts for them, or for their boyfriends or husbands to whisk them out for a romantic meal.
Instead, what many women hope for is a simple hug, new research has found.
A poll by Retail Active revealed that nine out of ten mums have admitted that all they are looking for is a good cuddle from their little ones.
Meanwhile, eight out of ten respondents revealed they would be happy to receive a card - particularly if their young children have made it themselves.
And it appears that mothers are truly valued in the UK, with men revealed to spend more on their own mums when Mothering Sunday comes round than they do on their partners for Valentine’s Day.
Meanwhile, boys were found to be more generous with their Mother’s Day gifts than daughters.
When it came to what ladies were most likely to receive on this special day, flowers were found to be the most popular gift at 42 per cent.
Meanwhile, according to the Sun, Mark Owen’s betrayed wife Emma may have offered the ultimate Mother’s Day gift to her own kids, by reportedly taking back her cheating husband for the sake of their children.
What did you receive this Mother’s Day?
