Wedding Trends For The New Year
By admin • Jan 5th, 2010Many women across the UK may be excitedly preparing for their nuptials this year, but may be wondering what bridal fashion in the new decade will entail.
Luckily, help is at hand from one wedding style expert, who has offered her bridal fashion predictions for 2010.
Rachel Southwood, director at Wedding Ideas Magazine, said bridal gowns this year are likely to be either strapless or one-shouldered and make an emphasis on the back.
Indeed, she stated that the back of wedding dresses are likely to prove eye-catching, either by plunging deeply or featuring sparkle and added detailing.
Meanwhile, traditional full-length veils - which have been out of bridal vogue for some time - will also be making a come-back, Ms Southwood asserted.
"[For] bridesmaids, 2010 is going to be all about short, 50s style dresses with bow details. Sage green and pastels continue to dominate after a few years of everything being bold and bright," she explained.
And lucky bridesmaids may get more use out of their gowns than one single wear, with Ms Southwood predicting they will be more akin to cocktail dresses.
Stars rumoured to be planning to tie the knot this year include Robbie Williams and his girlfriend Ayda Field and Russell Brand and singer Katy Perry, after Russell was spotted looking at diamond rings.
