Women ‘Want Marriage Before Career’
By admin • Apr 15th, 2010Times are changing and while women are still keen to have it all, the order in which they wish to hit their life goals has changed over the course of the last decade.
New research consulted by More Magazine has revealed that many young ladies now want to be married and have children before they embark on their career.
And despite some of their favourite stars, such as Cheryl Cole and Sandra Bullock, being caught up in cheating scandals concerning their husbands, 78 per cent of female respondents still dream about tying the knot.
The poll revealed that young women today hope to be married at 26 and have their first child at 27, although only 42 per cent said they would put marriage ahead of a career.
Commenting on the results, Chantelle Horton, editor of MORE Magazine, said: "Young women today are also much more traditional and romantic than many people may think and although they want to look hot, party with their mates and live life to the full, underlying most Saturday nights out is the hope that you’ll meet the man who you will eventually settle down and live happily ever after with."
She added that no matter what their age, the majority of women realistically expect their marriage to last and are prepared to put the effort in to see this happen.
And despite the celebrity break ups, Ms Horton said that ladies are wise to the fact the couples in the limelight have to face pressures on their relationship that normal girls will never go through.
